Kirsi Nevanti (director/producer)
Born in Eastern Karelia, Finland. Lives in Stockholm. Educated at the University College of Film, Radio, Television and Theatre, DI, Stockholm, in documentary film directing 1992–1995. Visions, a workshop for European filmmakers under the leadership of Michael Rabiger, 1994–1995. A filmmaker acknowledged for her own personal style, daring editing and sensitive use of camera. Her films have been selected for festivals such as Locarno (Critics’ Week), IDFA (Joris Ivens Award), and the Swedish Film Days in Tokyo. PhD in film and media (Lund 2017). Her latest production is a feature-length documentary film about Sweden today (2019-2022), to be launched 2023. Based on her doctoral work, she also has continued to develop her arts-based research project on the use of film and emerging media technologies for existential health and stress management. In her earlier years she worked at radio.
